On 10 September 2022 at Hillview Resthome, Te Kuiti, aged 86 years. Beloved husband of Marie for 62 years. Loved and respected father and father-in-law of Stuart and Karen, Craig and Julie, Janene and Phil New, Alistair, Heather and Alvyn Schick, and Carolyn and Jean-Charles Cornu. Proud grandfather to his 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A celebration of Ian’s life will be held at VJ Williams Chapel, King Street West, on Wednesday 14 September 2022 at 11am, followed by interment at Te Kuiti Cemetery. Dear Wards Family, in Memory of your father, who will always be remembered as friendly and welcoming to myself and family at St Andrews church, (or whenever we met) someone my late father Basil and my husband Sofus could always have a long talk about farming, Fonterra and rural chit chat. Very rarely without a smile our thoughts are with you all.
